Developer Infinite Fall announced on Twitter today that their acclaimed game Night in the Woods is coming to Nintendo Switch. The title is set to release on Switch early next month, and will include new content from the Weird Autumn definitive edition.
Similar to various Switch versions, the game will be listed for $20. The release is set to come with new side stories, activities, dialogue, and other content found in Weird Autumn, which serves as a director’s cut version that released for previous platforms last month. The game itself plays upon emotion, wit, and dark humor to emulate the life of Mae Borowski after she drops out of college. As the young cat protagonist, players return to her hometown, which seems to be filled with unsolved events.
Night in the Woods has been nominated for various awards, and earned a GameStop Editor Spotlight Award in 2017. The game first released on Mac, Linux, Windows, and PlayStation 4 with critical acclaim last February. After the success, the game was then released for Xbox One this last December. It is finalist in three awards for the upcoming Independent Games Festival: narrative categories, visual art, and the Seumas McNally grand prize.
Nintendo Switch owners will be able to purchase Night in the Woods on February 1. The title is also set to release on mobile later this year.
