We are weeks away from the release of Cyberpunk 2077’s big expansion, Phantom Liberty along with the massive 2.0 update for the game. We got the first look at some of the major changes coming to the game during Gamescom. Now, CD PROJEKT RED is set to reveal new information with the return of Night City Wire. The special Phantom Liberty episode is set for Thursday, September 14 on the official CD PROJEKT RED YouTube and Twitch channels at 5 pm CEST / 8 am PDT.
CD PROJEKT RED said that during this Night City Wire, they will talk about new radio stations coming to the game, learn more about Idris Elba’s character Solomon Reed, discuss gameplay, new abilities, and more.
Phantom Liberty is a new spy-thriller adventure for Cyberpunk 2077. Players will return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V and embark on a new high-stakes mission of espionage and intrigue to save the NUS President. In the dangerous district of Dogtown, V will have to forge new alliances within a web of shattered loyalties and sinister political machinations.
CD PROJEKT RED has broken down everything that’s coming in both the free 2.0 update and the paid expansion.
The free update brings redesigned skill trees and perks, revamped cyberware and new capacity system, vehicle combat and car chases, combat AI improvements, new police system, UI and UX improvements, loot, items, and crafting changes, and new radio stations (including the Community Radio Station Growl FM).
Phantom Liberty, the paid expansion adds the dangerous new district Dogtown, brand-new storyline and characters, new quests, gigs, boss fights, and more, vehicle missions and airdrops – endless dynamic events, all-new Relic skill tree and abilities, 100+ new items – weapons, cyberware, cars, and fashion, vehicle missile launchers, and level cap increase to 60.
Everything is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The update and expansion is not available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Phantom Liberty launches later this month on September 26. The free 2.0 update will be released before then. Perhaps we will learn when on Thursday.
