Today, Square Enix and Applibot, Inc have announced that the first mobile game in the NieR series, NieR Re[in]carnation, will be releasing on iOS and Android devices next month on July 28, 2021. The game brings together Creative Director Yoko Taro, Composer Keiichi Okabe from MONACA, and Producer Yosuke Saito. The game has already surpassed 400,000 pre-registrations.
With the pre-registration goal being met, additional milestones and rewards have been added to the ongoing campaign before the game is released. Currently, players will get 3,000 gems plus an enhancement pack. Reaching 500,000 users adds 3,000 gems plus a weapon evolution pack. If the goal of 600,000 pre-registrations is met, all players will receive enough gems to complete 15 summons for free, in addition to valuable materials needed to enhance characters.
The story surrounding NieR Re[in]carnation revolves around a girl who awakens on a cold stone floor. She finds herself in an infinitely vast place filled with buildings that touch the very sky. Guided by a mysterious creature who calls herself Mama, she begins to explore her new surroundings. To reclaim what she has lost- and atone for her sins- she sets off on a journey through this place of unknown creation… a place known as The Cage.
NieR Re[in]carnation is not the only NieR game that is out this year. Earlier this year, NieR Replicant ver. 122474887139… was released. This is a re-telling of NieR Replicant, the first game in the series, for modern consoles. The game has surpassed one million units shipped and digitally sold.
