At E3 this year, developer DICE showed off a teaser of their forthcoming game Star Wars: Battlefront. Despite being only 22 seconds in length the fan reaction was explosive.
Those fans should be happy to hear that the title is “well into development” according to Frank Gibeau, EA Games Label president.
Gibeau was quoted during a call over FY14 Q1 earnings saying:
We showed 22 seconds of where we’re going with it and the fan response was very positive. The DICE team is well into development on that product already, so we feel very bullish about our shooter rotation over the next several years.
He also mentioned the game has “a third-person component to it.”
Star Wars: Battlefront is reportedly being created by the Battlefield team using the Frostbite 3 engine.
There is no official release date yet for the title.
