News Tower Out On Early Access

The new game News Tower is out on Early Access. The game, which is a newspaper management simulator, has already garnered positive reviews. Developers are listening to the players during this time to get their feedback on the game. They hope to expand the game with this feedback.

Taking place in the 1930’s New York, News Tower is a two-dimensional game based in a tower. Players have to build their tower up to become the next big newspaper company. The current early access will only go up until 1932, but the developers plan to expand it all the way to 1939. This game is highly involved; with players having the ability to control everything from the printing press to the toilet. There are 100+ items to customize offices and 10+ jobs to keep the place running. Players will lead their team of journalists to get the latest scoop on the biggest stories.

While everything might sound like smooth sailing, players have to be careful that mobsters and politicians don’t try and have the player print “their truth.” Players will cover everything from major stories such as the great depression to small stories like lost cats. Players get the opportunity to control what goes out in the newspaper each issue. There are over 1000+ news stories for players to cover all across the news map. If players do bend to the will of the mobsters and politicians, they may get a special reward for this.

The developers anticipate that the game will be out on Early Access for the next year. Their development team, called Sparrow Night, is only four people. They plan on expanding the game and building off of the current features within the game. The developers plan to bring in “more content, immersion, and mechanics later on.” There is currently a discount for the game because it is in early access on Steam.
