Yesterday Sony took center stage at the Tokyo Game Show 2015 when it held its PlayStation press conference. There were many announcements made at the conference ranging from new games to upcoming price drops.
First up is a price drop heading towards Japan. Sony announced that the price of a PS4 in Japan will be cut down to 34,980 yen. The price cut will go into effect on Oct. 31st. The decrease represents a 12 percent price drop of the PS4.
That was not the only announcement made for Japan. Sony unveiled a new PlayStation 4 with colored faceplates. The consoles will be available on November 6, with 7 colors available at launch with gold and silver plates to be released later on.
From consoles we move now to games with one the biggest announcements being the release of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 for the PS4. Hot of the heels off a possible leak, Square Enix revealed Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. The game will include high definition remakes of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 will be coming to the PlayStation 4 in 2016.
Also announced for the PS4 was Yakuza 6. Although there were not many details announced regarding this game, it is scheduled for a fall 2016 release.
Finally, Ubisoft announced DLC for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed Syndicate featuring the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper. Ubisoft gave a brief description of the content:
Set during the Autumn of Terror in Whitechapel, 1888, a killer’s abominable acts of murder and mutilation terrorize London, creating widespread panic and worldwide media attention. Players will join forces with Inspector Frederick Abberline of Scotland Yard, to hunt down Jack the Ripper in a deadly game of cat and mouse with the infamous serial killer.
The Jack the Ripper DLC will be available as a standalone DLC, but will also be available in the Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
The DLC does not have an official release date. However, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will launch on October 23 for PlayStation 4 and XBOX One.
