A roughly 192GB archive of Rockstar Games development data has surfaced online, revealing new details about cancelled Grand Theft Auto V projects and apparently containing a smaller amount of very early Grand Theft Auto VI material. Reports indicate that the archive is connected to the 2022 Rockstar network intrusion that previously exposed more than 90 videos of early GTA VI footage. Rather than representing a newly confirmed 2026 breach, the material appears to have circulated privately for years before becoming much more widely available. The archive’s complete contents and provenance have not been independently authenticated in full.
One of the most significant discoveries concerns LibertyV, a cancelled single-player expansion that would have brought Liberty City, the setting of Grand Theft Auto IV, into GTA V. Researchers examining a file identified as dlcliberty_game.date151.rel used CodeWalker to reconstruct map zones associated with the project. The resulting outline suggests the planned Liberty City was substantially larger than the city featured in GTA IV. The archive also contains additional material from the cancelled Agent Trevor expansion. The project was already known to exist, with Trevor voice actor Steven Ogg previously revealing that he had recorded material for an undercover, government-agent storyline. Former Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser later said the single-player DLC was approximately half finished when it was abandoned. The newly surfaced files reportedly provide additional mission names, locations and other development material.
Some of the newly circulated data also appears to contain early GTA VI assets and development material. Because these files represent an early stage of development, they should not be treated as an accurate depiction of the game’s final content or map. Current official information from Rockstar places Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. The Liberty City material has inevitably renewed speculation that the location could eventually appear in GTA VI. There is currently no official evidence, however, connecting the cancelled GTA V LibertyV project to any planned GTA VI expansion.
Instead, the latest leak primarily offers a deeper look at Rockstar’s development history. It shows the scale of projects that were considered for GTA V, provides additional information about the long-discussed Agent Trevor DLC, and offers another glimpse into the early stages of Rockstar’s next Grand Theft Auto. For fans, the archive is notable less because it confirms future plans than because it illustrates how much of Rockstar’s development process remains hidden until unfinished ideas resurface years later.
