The next Marvel SNAP season Masters of the Arcane is here. Ancient forces are stirring and at the center of it all are Marvel’s most adept wielders of the arcane arts. It’s time to crack open those tomes, dust off your relics, and channel your inner mystic with Masters of the Arcane.

When players get the Season Pass for Masters of the Arcane, they will get the new character Merlin. Dedicated to protecting the Multiverse, Merlin has charged himself with manipulating events for the benefit of the continued existence of all reality.

Merlin gives players an incantation at the start of each turn. Omniversal Presence replaces a location with a new one and gives Merlin +2 power. Once and Future shuffles a player’s lowest power card into their deck and gives +2 energy next turn. Polymorph transforms a player’s lowest power card here into one that costs 1 more.

Merlin isn’t the only new character being added with the new season. Other Arcane focused Marvel characters include Dormammu, Morgan Le Fay, Nicholas Scratch, Jennifer Kale, The Ancient One, Nightmare, Clea, Kid Omega, Cobra, and more.

Similar to Merlin, Dormammu begins a Summoning Ritual each turn. Summoning Ritual 1 merges the player’s highest power card with Dormammu. Ritual 2 steals 1 power from each card. Ritual 3 destroys 2 of a player’s characters here to summon Dormammu.

Morgan Le Fay returns all discarded and destroyed cards to hand with +3 power.  Nicholas Scratch adds +1 power after a skill is played. Jennifer Kale gives a player +1 energy next turn. The Ancient One adds Tao Mandala to your hand. In turn, Tao Mandala copies the text of one of a player’s ongoing cards here onto the other characters here.

Nightmare replaces the text of each card in a player’s hand with text from a random card of the same cost. Clea provides players with flames of the flatline when it permanently gains power. Flames of the Flatline allflicts an enemy card with -3 power.

Kid Omega and Cobra are limited time event cards. Kid Omega destroys the next card a player plays this turn to gain its power. Cobra destroys an enemy card created here.
