The New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) is turning the 2026 New York Game Awards into a two-day festival in Manhattan’s SVA Theater in celebration of its 15th anniversary. NYVGCC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit consisting of 40 videogame critics, writers, reporters, and bloggers from America that works to make video game journalism and game narrative writing accessible to youth across New York City. Through their Playing With Purpose writing program, students are connected with industry professionals, and paid interns from the program write for the NYVGCC website.
The New York Game Awards are not only made to celebrate gaming but also functions as the charity event for Playing with Purpose. This year’s New York Game Awards are their first two-day awards. The first night, GG Fest, will end with the exclusive Supergiant Games: Unplugged concert featuring Supergiant Games’ award-winning composer Darren Korb and longtime collaborator Ashley Barrett.
The second day of the festival, January 18th, will be the actual awards show, hosted by NYVGCC president Harold Goldberg and former president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé, who was also the 2020 Andrew Yoon Legend Award. Past New York Game Awards can be viewed on the NYVGCC YouTube Channel. Below is the VOD of the 14th New York Game Awards.
