Released on February 8th, 2024 Arrowhead Game Studios’ cooperative third person shooter Helldivers 2 has basically taken the video game world by storm. Becoming much more popular than the devs probably could have ever hoped for, players all over the world fell in love with Helldivers’ gameplay, atmosphere, and general feel and the hard workers at Arrowhead have gone above and beyond to entertain their players in this regard. One such method has been Joel, basically, the Game Master of Helldivers 2, keeping things interesting by mixing up the ways the bugs and bots coordinate and attack planets. But it seems that “Joel” has been a bit more hands-on, as he recently dropped into a random game and left a brand new vehicle, a massive APC, before immediately leaving.

As shown above, the new vehicle is an APC, a massive armored car that can likely seat more than one person due to the machine guns mounted on the roof, it also seems rather tanky, taking several gunshots from the robot enemies and not even showing any visible damage. After Helldivers 2’s last vehicle release, the titanic armored mech (which you can also see in that vehicle) it’s looking like we’re moving more and more into vehicular stratagem territory, and one must wonder what other kinds of goodies we’ll be getting as we liberate the galaxy from communist and alien threats.
Though there is a bit of an asterisk in this reveal, while it would be cool if Joel himself dropped into a random game and left a brand new shiny murder machine as a fun way to engage social media, it’s possible that it wasn’t Joel in that video up there. As reported by PCGamer, there has been evidence of a random hacker dropping into random matches and leaving unreleased vehicles before immediately leaving for over a month, and this could just be another example of that guy doing the same thing, though it is possible that it was actually Joel himself gracing this random game with forbidden knowledge.
Regardless, the APC looks incredibly fun, especially if it can seat more than one diver, and the community is more than excited to play with it despite the possibly shady source of the information. If you would like to join the fight for democracy then Helldivers 2 is available for PlayStation 5 as well as PC.
