Vampires, creatures of the night known to stalk their prey at night, waiting to suck their blood, they are also known to teach children how to count. But all jokes aside, a new Vampire: The Masquerade game has been announced, and this time it’s in the form of visual novel title, Vampire: The Masquerade- Oaths and Ashes. Not much is known about when the game will be released, only that it’s slated for sometime later in 2026, and you can now Wishlist on Steam. The visual novel itself will take place in contemporary Berlin, and the player will take control of two protagonists, Alice and Lenz.
The Team behind this new game is an indie Polish studio called Revive The Spark, and the dev team is made up of industry veterans who have worked on previous titles in the franchise, aiming for a fresh perspective while staying true to the franchise’s core setting. Now, the game itself is a narrative visual novel set in the vampiric underworld of Berlin, where the players take control of two protagonists: Alice, an operative dispatched by the Camarilla to keep the city’s factions destabilized, and Lenz, an outsider trying to survive the underworld. The mechanics of the game are based on Vampire: The Masquerade 5th edition, “blending a branching dialogue system with character-specific abilities.” The game will be accessible to newcomers to the franchise and will offer deep, enriching lore for those who are familiar with it and are waiting to sink their teeth into the newest title.
It’s always awesome to see an indie studio get a shot not only at creating a game but also at making one for a popular franchise such as Vampire: The Masquerade. Even though the franchise has had its ups and downs, especially with the latest title in the franchise, Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2, this title will be a welcome breath of fresh air for the franchise and a big chance for Revive The Spark to make a name for itself and leave its first bite mark on the industry. As mentioned before, the game doesn’t have a confirmed release date, only that it’s coming later in 2026, so it will be a little while before the game hits the markets, but you can, as of now, Wishlist the title on Steam and sink your teeth into all that is known about the game.
