Fans of the Smash Bros. series may be ecstatic to hear that the newest character will be revealed in a few days during a livestream hosted by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director Masahiro Sakurai. The 35-minute livestream will show off the first character of the second Fighter’s Pass DLC, and will likely be filled with amazing scenes of this new character’s abilities. The reveal will start on June 22nd at 7am PT/10 am ET/3 pm BST. The last fighter reveal for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate occurred back in December and featured the protagonist of Fire Emblem Three Houses, Byleth.

While it was revealed back in March at the Nintendo Direct Mini event that the newest character would be from ARMS, it is currently unknown who it could be. Although players will be given a rather lengthy preview of the newest fighter, Nintendo has stated that no new fighters will be revealed during this preview. Fans may also have to wait a while for the release of this character as well as the other characters for the new Fighter’s Pass DLC.
According to IGN, in a Famitsu Magazine, which was translated by IGN Japan, Sakurai stated that “If someone is found to be infected, the entire building will be closed down and development will be halted altogether,”. Sakurai also stated that “Even if we did theoretically announce a new fighter, it’s possible that development would not continue as planned,”. While the first character for the Fighter’s Pass DLC is being revealed on the 22nd of June, it is very likely that fans may have to expect delays for the reveal of any other fighters.
