Nintendo announced that there would be a new addition the the Style Savvy series with the upcoming game Style Savvy: Styling Star. The new Style Savvy title puts the player in the role of a boutique manager and a stylist for a production studio. Running the boutique allows players to sell clothes and suggest different outfit combinations to customers while keeping up with the latest fashion trends. The production stylist job gives players the responsibility of helping their clients be fashionable and look great for their up-and-coming careers as professional singers.
Being a personal stylist at the studio gives players access to over 20,000 items to dress up their clients. Every client is unique and has different tastes in clothing, so players must pay attention to what they like in order to get a higher score. As the game progresses, a personal assistant can be hired to organize the boutique and wear outfits that may be used for clients. Style Savvy: Styling Star also has online capabilities that allow players to host photoshoots, “visit other players’ stores online, and keep in-touch with customers and events using their in-game mobile phone.” Seeing work from other stylists may help players figure out what clothing choices go together for complete and trendy looks.
Players will be able to use amiibo to help with styling as well; Nintendo states “all currently available amiibo are compatible with Style Savvy: Styling Star. Some amiibo, including Animal Crossing, Splatoon and Kirby series amiibo, will unlock Nintendo-themed design elements and emblems. Other amiibo will unlock a special design element and emblem.” For those who don’t want to use amiibo, more in-game content such as makeup, hair styling, and men’s fashion can be unlocked by increasing the style rank,.
Currently, a demo of Style Savvy: Styling Star is available on the Nintendo eShop, and the full version of the game will be released December 25.
