The development team behind the upcoming cyberpunk adventure game, VirtuaVerse, recently posted an update to the game’s official Twitter page revealing the project’s Steam Announcement Trailer. The short clip displays a beautifully designed futuristic city filled with purple and pink neon lights and signs. But is this view the true reality?

VirtuaVerse seems to be set in a technologically advanced future, where a single artificial intelligence (AI) appears to have control over the machines and people of the city. According to the Steam description, “Society has migrated to a permanently integrated reality connected to a single neural network which continuously optimizes their experiences by processing personal data.” However, there are a few who manage to make a living off the radar from the AI. Nathan, a smuggler who refuses to submit to the new rule, is one of the few who can still see the world for what it really is. But when his girlfriend, Jay, goes missing, with a cryptic message scribbled on their bathroom, Nathan will prepare to embark on a dangerous mission involving hardware graveyards, digital archeology, cryptoshamans, and “virtual reality debauchery”.
Excited? Well, anticipated fans may have to wait for a while before getting their hands on the game. As of right now, neither Theta Division nor Blood Music has revealed an estimated release period for the game. On its Steam page, the Release Date section states that the game will launch “…in a future not so far away.” However, the game can be added to the Steam wishlist. Players will be notified when the game becomes available.
