New Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker Scene to Debut Exclusively in Fortnite Next Week

Fortnite is preparing for another huge event very soon. This time it is another crossover with Star Wars. Officially announced by the Fortnite Twitter account earlier today, and teased by posters in-game, a new scene from the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker film will exclusively be debuting in the game at, the drive-in theater in-game location, Risky Reels. The scene is set to debut at 2 pm ET/11 am PT next Saturday, December 14, a full six days before the release of the film.

It is currently unknown how long the scene will be or what will be shown off during it. All that is known is what time the event occurs. However, there is one piece of information mentioned at the bottom of the in-game posters. The bottom of the posters has the line “With J.J. Abrams,” who is the director of The Rise of Skywalker and previously directed The Force Awakens. Though it is not specified in what capacity Abrams will appear. A possible introduction to the scene could be likely if he appears at all.

This is the second time Fortnite and Star Wars have crossed paths in recent weeks. Last month, the Imperial Stormtrooper from Star Wars appeared in the game’s Item Shop for 1500 V-bucks for a very limited time. This crossover was in celebration of the launch of the recently released Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which has been met with positive reception from fans and critics alike.

It is most likely safe to assume that Epic Games will disable eliminations and combat while the event is happening similar to the Marshmello concert that occurred in the game earlier this year. Fans can only speculate and wait until the doors open at 1:30 pm ET/ 10:30 am PT next Saturday to see for themselves.
