During Nintendo’s E3 Direct, a new spooky trailer was shown off for the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion 3. The trailer showed off Luigi on another spooky adventure filled with ghosts while searching for Mario. The trailer also showed off new multiplayer modes for the game as well.

Luigi is invited to a “glorious hotel” along with Mario, Princess Peach, and other characters. However, something bad happens once Luigi arrives. Luigi will hunt ghost around the hotel using his trusty Poltergust vaccuum. Luigi can use the Poltergust to suck up ghosts, get a boosted jump, and even slam ghost into objects and each other.
Professor E. Gadd is back as well and is bringing along his newest invention, Gooigi, to help Luigi out on his quest. Gooigi is back from the 3DS remake of the original game, and can reach places Luigi can’t From slipping through metal bars and walking on spikes. However, players be warned, Gooigi and water don’t mix and he’ll dissolve if he touches it. Also, Gooigi will be able to taken control of by another player for co-op action.
Finally, a new multiplayer mode was shown off called ScareScraper. This mode will allow for up to eight players to come together as eight different Luigis in co-op gameplay. Players will have a time limit venture around and clear the entire ScareScraper of ghosts.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 still doesn’t have a firm release date as of yet, but is still slated to release at some point in 2019.
