Soccer fans, and sports fans in general will be able to play a unique soccer video game titled Rematch later this month. The third-person game, developed by Sloclap, and published by both Sloclap and Kepler Interactive will be released on June 19, 2025. The systems it will be available on are Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam. Also of note, it is said to be available on Game Pass for Xbox users once it is released. Sloclap also helped create Sifu, a beat-em-up action game released in 2022, and Absolver, another action style game that released back in 2017. This could give a hint as to the style of gameplay that will be featured in Rematch. Specifically regarding how the game itself will operate, Sloclap said:
Control one player on your team and compete in fast-paced 5v5 matches from an immersive third-person perspective.

Looking at the trailers provided by Sloclap for Rematch, the graphics seem to be similar to that of Fortnite and Rocket League, and the gameplay seems to be much more cartoon-like and playful compared to other soccer games, such as Fifa. Also of note in the trailer, it seems that fouls and offsides will not be a factor in the gameplay, with occurrences of these happening relatively frequently in the trailers with no whistle being blown by a referee. Also, based on the trailer, the number of players on the pitch is different from that of a traditional soccer game, with most of the trailer showing 6 total players.
Soccer fans and gamers on social media seem to be interested in the upcoming game, with many intrigued by the unique style of gameplay, compared to other more simulation style sports games.
