Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: DX brings along Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. The latest trailer gives us a glimpse of a storybook art style (even though it is watermarked as “not actual game footage”) and restyled visuals.
In the trailer below, it looks like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: DX will be a calm and character-driven walkthrough Pokemon Square. It then goes in to tell the usual story that you, the human being, have woken up as a Pokemon and must figure out how to return to the human world. In figuring out what happened to your human body, you must also discover the environmental changes that are happening to the Pokemon world and solve the case of the Mystery Dungeons.
The trailer also gives a taste of some gameplay mechanics, that includes an auto mode (that allows players to automatically walk through the dungeon, pick up items, and find the stairs) and an option that lets players choose what kind of pokemon they want to be if they do not like their opening quiz results. (Note: Whatever Pokemon type you are will also change what your house looks like!)
Another aspect of the remake is a new feature called “Rare Qualities” that feature the use of IQ skills. “Rare Qualities” are passive skills that can help in the exploration of dungeons. These skills allow players (and their entire party) to break down walls and disarm traps by just walking over them, and are acquired by eating a Rainbow Gummi or a DX Gummi.
Two new commercials (posted below) for the game that will air on Japanese television have been uploaded on the Nintendo YouTube account.
Trailer 1: “Smiles”
Trailer 2: “Tears”
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 6th however, players can play a brief demo that will transfer their saved information over to the actual game when released.
