It has been reported several times that Hello Games’ highly anticipated space exploration, No Man’s Sky, was overwhelmingly a dissapointment to most gamers. Steam immediately offered refunds to countless of gamers after they’ve complained that they were not happy with the game and were “misled” by the developers. They even worked on a massive patch that addressed some the biggest complaints gamers had regarding the number of glitches they experienced during their gameplay. But reviews for the game have yet to change on its Steam page. Hello Games is hoping to change all of this with its new foundation update.
According to Polygon, No Man’s Sky is getting a new foundation update at a later date which has not yet been announced. This new update will feature base-building, a feature that many gamers had been hoping to see when the game came out. Whether the base-building will be as intense or have as much depth as the base-building from Bethesda’s Fallout 4, but this seems to be a step in the right direction for Hello Games.
Hello Games has not said exactly when they plan on releasing the new update, but they did make sure to let players know that this update won’t be the biggest update, but its going to be the start of something that’ll add more content to the game. Addressing fans and the gaming community alike for the first time since responding to its Twitter account being hacked, Hello Games also responded to the ongoing player outrage over its game.
The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic. We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about. Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone.
This new foundation update will hopefully bring some cool new features that will expand the gameplay. It seems like a small step for the developer, but maybe they’ll regain gamer’s excitement for their game when the update arrives.
