The announcement generated the usual amount of excitement from fans. That said speculation around this Direct intensified thanks to the recent rumors on a possible new Mario game. Yesterday, Twitter user Pyoro_ND, known for their accurate leaks of Everybody 1-2-Switch and Sonic Superstars, teased a possible 2D Mario game and a “remake of a SNES classic”. It’s not the first time rumors of a new 2D Mario game hit internet, but that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping for it and other potential titles.
