New Nintendo 3DS to be Released in February

Fans of Nintendo’s popular handheld 3DS console, received exciting news this week at Nintendo Direct’s online presentation. A New Nintendo 3DS XL is scheduled for US release February 13th.


The new system will retail for $199.99 and include a variety of new control features. NFC capability, 3D face tracking technology, C Stick, and ZL/ZR buttons were all added to enhance players experience for upcoming games. In addition to the new controls, two new hardware cases will also be available other than the traditional colors of red and black. A gold case featuring art work from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and silver case from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be available for purchase on launch date. Before you buy the New 3DS, please know that there will be no chargeable adapter for the system once it hits the market, but if you own previous generations of the model they will be compatible with the new system. You can purchase bundle pack featuring Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for $229.99 exclusively at Gamestop.

Also, along with the New Nintendo 3DS XL, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, amiibo characters from the Super Mario series, and a new Fire Emblem Game will be released on February 13th.

“We are only a couple of weeks into 2015, and Nintendo is already starting the year off with a bang,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “With New Nintendo 3DS XL coming very soon and an enormous library of exclusive Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games launching throughout the coming months, it has never been a better time to be a Nintendo fan.”
