New Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer Features the Speed and Brutality of Kabal

Mortal Kombat 11 has a brand new trailer, and it features fan-favorite Kabal. Kabal, who was introduced in Mortal Kombat 3 in 1995, was not a playable character in the most recent game, Mortal Kombat X. After the brief hiatus, Kabal makes his triumphant return (depending on which storyline you follow) and is out for blood, though that can be said about any of the Mortal Kombat contestants. You can check out the trailer below.

Kabal is a popular choice due to his insane speed and general OP status in Mortal Kombat 3. As the series progressed, he was left out quite a bit, only appearing in three games as a playable character since his introduction. Fans will be excited to get their hands on his signature Hookswords once again and carve their way through the competition. The trailer features a matchup between Kabal and Sub-Zero and shows off the destructive power of the Hookswords coupled with incredible speed. The trailer splices in fights against Sonya Blade and Baraka as well, where Kabal highlights some signature moves, such as Nomad Dash, sending opponents spinning, and a Fatal Blow that leaves little to the imagination. Kabal slashes with decisive twirls of the blades, culminating in a fish-like hook of Sub-Zero before hoisting him over his head and slamming him to the ground.

The shining light of the trailer, however, is Kabal’s Fatality. Kabal launches himself at his opponent, hooking him by the legs and dragging him at breakneck speed, head dragging on the ground of course, as Sub-Zero’s eyeballs are literally ripped from his skull. As if that weren’t enough, Kabal launches them and quickly warps to the other side of the stage for the setup. Sub-Zero flies helplessly towards a waiting Kabal, and slices him clean in half. Long gone are the days of Friendship apparently.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 23.
