New Metal Gear Survive Mission Type Coming In March

Konami has big plans lined up for their recently released title Metal Gear Survive, the first new entry into the Metal Gear series since Hideo Kojima departed from the company. The game requires constant internet connection even for it’s single player mode. This is to provide players with “seamless” transition between single player and multiplayer experiences.

Metal Gear Survive’s online connectivity requirements were built to support a seamless integration between single player and co-op. This will also enable us to provide ongoing content post-launch.” In light of that the publisher has just unveiled that the game will be receiving a new Co-Op mission type simply dubbed, Rescue Mission, set to release next month.

Within this mission type players will be tasked with fighting into enemy grounds in order to save fellow soldiers. It seems that the publisher is thinking of new ways to get players to interact with one another and this scenario adds a real twist to how they will have to work together in contrast to previous co-op mission types.

Konami has even stated that these missions will need a “whole new level of cooperation” than that of the Salvage Missions. This new mission type is set to be coming sometime in March, but to tide players over until then, Konami will offer players daily missions from the existing set of co-op missions that give players a bigger rewards and modifiers for completing them. Metal Gear Survive is now available for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
