Marvel Rivals has put out a new trailer for the game’s Season 4: The Heart of the Dragon, giving fans much to be excited about for the upcoming release on September 12th.
The trailer begins with a showcase of a pristine setting, highlighting the incredible quality of the animation that will be brought to the forefront once the fight begins. From the smoke, Angela is revealed as a playable character for the upcoming season, showing off a bulky design that leads some players to believe she will fill the tank role. The darkness before her then parts to reveal Daredevil as the other character of the trailer, boasting the design fresh takes that Marvel Rivals has become known for. Their ensuing clash leans into the angel versus devil dynamic that the inspiration for the characters invokes.
In the trailer, Angela demonstrates multiple abilities that could indicate what her move set might be. She uses spears of light that she launches down at Daredevil. Moments later, she binds and immobilizes him using light wrappings. Her comic appearances establish that she is a god-like being, though her exact capabilities have changed with the hands of various writers. This leaves the door wide open for the things she will be able to do in the game.
The second character in the trailer, Daredevil, has received more attention from the media, with his character appearing in various movies and shows over the years. As such, his abilities and use of batons are more instantly recognizable to fans of the franchise. The game also seems interested in leaning into the shadowy themes surrounding the character given how often darkness appears around him and his abilities in the trailer.
