Well we’ve fought on Klyntar’s surface for months now, and we fought on the symbiote infected celestial at the start of Season 3, now NetEase’s Marvel Rivals is seeing fit to send us to Klyntar’s core and directly to the throne of the dark god Knull himself in this trailer for the latest map in Season 3.

Covered in symbiote slime and spider imagery, the Throne of Knull is a cavernous underground map with all the creepy crawly feelings that entails. We see one of Knull’s corrupted dragons perching on top of a pillar to the god, as well as a corrupted statue of Black Panther’s god, Bast. Escorting this statue of Bast might be an objective for this map, though there are bigger things to worry about than Wakanda’s cat god, as the Phoenix Force is encircling the titular Throne of Knull with the big man himself welded to his chair as the Phoenix rains fire down on him.

It’s cool whenever maps like these come out. In the previous seasons we saw Dracula turn the entirety of New York into a vampire den and Ultron corrupt the X-Men’s home of Krakoa, now the heroes are taking a bit more initiative and taking the fight to the big bad’s lair for once. It’s just a really neat thing to see a PvP game tell its story through updates like this in the form of a new map or a new character, it gives the countless hours players spend in matches a bit more flavor as they grind away to Celestial and then Grandmaster.

The Throne of Knull will be released on August 22^nd, 2025 with a “Resource Rumble” coming with it. Look forward to the update, and the continued release of the Phoenix Force and Symbiote skins. We’ve still got a couple characters like Iron Fist that are due for their teased event skins coming up!
