A new leak by Redditor Spanky008 revealed that Battlefield V‘s in-game currency that is purchased with real money is coming in January. The post has a pre-order for “Battlefield Currency” that will come with 6000 points. This particular code is priced at $49.99. The post also says that this particular item is coming on January 18, 2019, which suggests that the currency will go live then.
As of right now, the only way to purchase any micro-transactions is with Company Coin, which is only earned in-game while playing. All of the game’s micro-transactions are cosmetic only, so you level up and unlock weapons and gadgets by playing the game. The release of “Battlefield Currency” comes in time with the start of Chapter 2 of the Tides Of War. The next chapter, Lighting Strikes, will focus on vehicle warfare and rapid infantry movement.
Two game modes are going to be added during this time. Rush returns to Battlefield, and Squad Conquest will be available to play as well. You will also get the chance to team up with your friends in Combined Arms, a co-op experience that has you and your friends taking on a series of combat strike missions across several maps. Chapter 2 lasts from January to March, 2019. Chapter 3: Trial By Fire comes soon after and brings the highly anticipated battle royale mode to Battlefield. FireStorm elevates the battle royale genre by bringing the best of what the series is known for: team play, powerful vehicles, and destruction.
In other Battlefield related news, Battlefield V recently adjusted the game’s time to kill back to what it was at launch. They released a statement to the community about the issue. The statement also talks about how they added a “Core” version of all of their playlists, as a result of only one playlist featuring the old time to kill values. Battlefield V is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC.
