X018 has been filled with a variety of surprises from Microsoft. With long awaited release dates being announced and new expansions for titles, there has been plenty to be on the lookout for. For Kingdom Hearts fans, the Mexico City event had a special treat: a new trailer and a developer interview. While this is the most recently released trailer for the title, we have also covered other trailers for Kingdom Hearts 3 in the past.
If you aren’t a die-hard fan and don’t know what is happening with the Kingdom Hearts series at this point, don’t worry, an effort will be made to put things into perspective. Kingdom Hearts 3 has been poised to be the end of the story that has been told since the beginning of the series, and is a game that has been in development for a long time. This can be seen through the return of Organization XIII and their leader, Master Xehanort. As the antagonists of the series, it is no surprise that they seem to play an extremely large role in the story of Kingdom Hearts 3. Speaking of antagonists, it seems that one of the protagonists of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Terra, is back and still possessed by Master Xehanort. If you’re familiar with the series, you know that Master Xehanort possesses people a lot.
Other than the primary antagonists, one of the stalwarts of the Disney-meets-fantasy franchise is returning, a welcome sight for both newcomers and returning players alike. That’s right, Winnie the Pooh is back in Kingdom Hearts. Winnie the Pooh, his friends, and the 100-Acre Wood seem to all be returning to Kingdom Hearts 3. Winnie the Pooh has been in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 so it only makes sense for his addition in this title, as a mainstay of the primary installations in the series.
Kingdom Hearts 3 releases January 29, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
