For many games, the climactic fights against bosses can prove the be the best showcase of the game’s features and mechanics. This makes early insight into said battles incredibly valuable for potential fans, which is exactly the case with the latest trailer for Denshattack!. Developed by Undercoders and published by Fireshine games, Denshattack! is an action-adventure game based on the adventures of a train against impossible odds. The new trailer gives an extended showcase of the game’s first boss battle against Yoshie of the Dashing Queens.
The trailer opens by giving viewers a look at the setting of a transformed Japan with more vibrant colors. These changes are exemplified in the player train, which is a bright yellow. In order to reach the boss, the player first needs to begin a race against her own train, showing off the rail-based travel that most of the game’s movement is made up of. Along the way, the train is able to perform jumps, flips, and tricks to build up combos and increase the score.
The real boss fight begins as the rival train combines with the other Dashing Queens in what the Steam page describes as a mecha magical girl sequence. The fight then begins in full as the player chases down the boss while dodging and riding on the various debris that gets thrown their way. The fight also expands beyond the bounds of single area, taking the battle through a futuristic city area, a park street, and over the water as the player is forced to use flying buildings to stay in the air. The battle comes to a close with a shift in power as the train gains controls of the mecha’s arm and uses it to finish off the boss.
The style of Denshattack! offers some of the most visually unique boss designs in the genre. Players will have the chance to see more of these encounters when the game releases on July 15th.
