New Gameplay Trailer Released For SteamWorld Heist II

The developers of SteamWorld Heist II Thunderful have released a new gameplay trailer for the game. The trailer features a new look at what players can expect from the game including exploring the world and combat.

In SteamWorld Heist II, players set off on a humorous and thrilling adventure on the high seas, taking charge as Captain Leeway alongside a ragtag crew of Steambots. Players will explore vast horizons, above and below, as they set sail to solve the mystery of a deadly water crisis that’s causing metal limbs and mechanical hearts to corrode.

The new extended gameplay trailer featured a combat encounter showcasing the game’s turn-based combat system where players can free-aim and ricochet their shots off of surfaces and its expansive world exploration with real-time naval combat.

In the new footage,  players get to see one of the early missions players will encounter in Heist II blowing up a few Royal Navy ships and play around with some of the game’s items and systems. The new footage also showcases the newly added difficulty slider where players can tailor their experience to their liking. Bars will offer rewards in the form of bounties. Bounties are claimed using Bounty Points when players end their day at a bar. Bounty Points can be earned the same way players earn reputation by completing missions, sinking flagships, and collecting drifting chests at sea. These can be repeated after resting.

The game also features a rich job system and customization options that players can choose for their crew to suit their playstyle, with other 150 guns, utility items, and ship equipment to choose from.

SteamWorld Heist II plunges players into a handcrafted world with intense turn-based combat, where bullets ricochet with deadly precision, a hilarious cast and story that’s unique for the strategy genre, and a toe-tappingly catchy musical universe. The game is set to launch on August 8, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
