A new gameplay trailer has been released for an upcoming game titled Fear The Reaper. The game was both published and developed by Pleasantly Friendly Games, and does not yet have a release date. It is clear that once it is released, Fear The Reaper will be available on PC, but it is not known as of now if it will be released to consoles, such as Xbox Series X|S or the PlayStation 5. As can be expected, based on the game’s title, Fear The Reaper will be a horror-themed game. In terms of the gameplay for Fear The Reaper, Pleasantly Friendly Games describes the game as a multiplayer PVP-style game, where 8 players are given the chance to fill unique roles, fitted similar to that of a typical slasher film. More specifically, Pleasantly Friendly Games said, regarding the gameplay roles of Fear The Reaper:

One player becomes The Reaper, a terrifying killer, while the others become Residents of the town The Reaper terrorizes

In the trailer, the narrator said that for the players who are not The Reaper, the primary objective for them is to call the police and wait for them to arrive. This call will have to be made on a payphone, and Pleasantly Friendly Games took advantage of this, as they made finding and collecting change a part of the challenge that players who are not The Reaper face. It is also mentioned in the trailer that multiple maps will be available. The trailer also showed how Pleasantly Friendly Games thought of many different aspects of the survival nature of the game, with players having to try and avoid sprinting or making sure they pick a lock correctly without alerting The Reaper. The Reaper’s gameplay is also described in the trailer, with the player being able to enter stealth or run mode, and being able to appear in a closet on the map multiple times within a match. Among the unique roles discussed earlier, the trailer points to the final girl as being the most important, as the way it’s described, if she survives, The Reaper’s chances of losing increase dramatically.
