Originally announced a few years back, a brand-new gameplay trailer surfaced during Gamescom 2023. From developers Jaw Drop Games, Deathground is currently available on wishlist on Steam.
The game is crowd-funded on Kickstarter and is classified as a solo and co-op survival horror game that throws players into a bloody and desperate survival against AI dinosaurs. Some of the key game features include squad-based survival, intense and repayable gameplay, unpredictable dinosaurs, character classes, realistic and dynamic environments, and an original soundtrack. Continually, the game pits you as the prey and you’ve got to complete objectives to escape a facility overrun with vicious raptors and other larger dinosaurs that you encounter along the way. Teamwork is essential if you want to escape the facility alive and outwit the AI dinosaurs crawling the facility. Feathered raptors are experts in stealth and they use their speed and enhanced senses to hunt you down. In this way, it is crucial for the player to mimic the raptors and also rely on their stealth capabilities so that the raptors can be avoided altogether. Larger dinosaurs like the T-rex cannot be confronted and the only way to outmaneuver them will come from collecting in-game loot and other modifications to weapons to make it possible to make it through the giant, stomping T-rex.
Deathground features both solo and co-op campaign mode so players can experience the realistic horror setting alone or with a team. Players can team up to 3 players in total on a mission to aim for survival and to secure special, high-value loot.
The game also features dynamic gameplay enriched with objectives, loot and stealth combat. Using Unreal Engine 4, AI dinosaurs appear realistic and the terrifying environments set in the Deathground appear as realistic as possible too. The game will primarily be available for PC but developers are also seeking to bring the game to consoles as well. The game is also described as the Jurassic Park survival horror game you didn’t know you wanted.
