New Futuristic Racing Game Lightfield Set For September Release

Lost In Garden creators officially announced their game Lightfield will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September.

Last year, Lost in Garden initially released previews of Lightfield  and some of its features in the development stage. The game had not been finished or announced for any consoles at the time, but the announcement teaser gave a brief look into some of the exploration and unrestricted race tracks the game has to offer.

As Lightfield gets ready for its launch to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon, Lost in Garden has released new information and updated gameplay trailers. Lost in Garden states,

Lightfield is a hyper futuristic racing game with a parkour twist. Drive on any surface including walls, tunnels and sci-fi architecture to piece together the fastest racing line. Only by mastering your anti-gravity spaceship and finding the best omnidirectional route can you race to the top.”

The omnidirectional features allow players to race around Lightfield’s game space in any way they choose, making the game look much larger and open in comparison to traditional racing games with pre-set tracks and environments. The unrestricted race tracks will also give players opportunities to “wander off to simply explore the environments and use them as [their] hyper futuristic playground.”

The game’s vibrant, neon-colors, flashing lights and unique building shapes add to the hyper futuristic visual feel, but fans also interested in Lightfield’s audio compositions can preview the soundtrack on the official website as well.

To keep players interested with the game’s exploration aspect, Lost in Garden designed a variety of large environments; some environments contain materials found on Earth such as plants and water, while others contain space debris, asteroids, and “large space station like structures that drill into the planet in large tunnels to harvest its resources.”

Players can choose to explore and race through the game alone or with friends, as Lightfield also supports online multiplayer features.

Lightfield launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 26th.
