Fate/Grand Order has finally finished its summer festivities on both servers. The North American server’s event ended in early August, with the Japan server’s beginning soon after. The changes made with character skills during the anniversary on Japan’s server led to severe outrage in the community, and eventually a response from Lasengle. The permanent solution finally went into effect with the new update released today.
The permanent solution refunded players all the servants coins – gained from pulling extra copies of servants – they may have spent on grail casting, a feature that lets players turn excess servant coins to grails for increasing level maximums on characters. As such players, who have used the grail casting system frequently will be receiving a gargantuan amount of servant coins with the new update. Now servants that players have pulled sufficient copies of and raised the bond level for, should be able to be maxed out.
Also released with the update was the new main story chapter Ordeal Call 3, which focuses on the Moon Cancer extra class, and as the name suggests takes place on the Moon. In order to access this new story chapter, players must clear the Ordeal Call Prologue and the Summer Nine event currently running on JP.
On the NA side of things is currently a little bit of downtime between events on the Road to Lostbelt 7. Having just finished Summer Seven, and the Fate/Stay Night 20th anniversary campaign, the next event is set to begin next week: the yearly GudaGuda event. However, before that comes the NA exclusive Back to School campaign. A banner unique to NA, it usually offers some small rewards and the chance to grab a character. This year Lasengle has decided to surprise players with a Koyanskaya of Light banner for the campaign. Koyanskaya of Light was the sixth anniversary servant, released last year on NA. She was set to have a banner in December of this year, right before NA will receive the new story main chapter Lostbelt 7. However, this surprise banner might put a damper on those plans, or give players a chance to pick her up and save for a different end of year rerun. Koyan is the definitive support for the Buster card type, and by running two of her (yours and a friend’s) players can make Buster farming possible. Either way, if players are still recovering from the impact the summer banners had on the pulls they were saving, there should be another chance to get her at the end of the year, along with other powerful support reruns.
