One of the most requested features in popular MMOs is the opportunity to live in and design your own personal home in the game. Well, the Elder Scrolls Online‘s new update coming in early 2017 will do just that.
The “major” update is called Homestead. Homestead will allow players to buy and personalize their own homes. Fortunately those homes aren’t going to be in the same location for all players. Players will all have their own home and you won’t so you won’t have to do other things along with securing yourself a plot of land for your home. You will be able to focus only on the home. You are also able to invite players to come into your home.
The trailer for Homestead is below:
When Homestead becomes available, there will be up to 40 different styles of houses that you can buy and customize. You can live in something as small as a small room at an inn to as big as “huge manor estates with vast outdoor areas.” All of the homes will be themed with one of Elder Scrolls‘s races, but there aren’t any restrictions on which one you can buy. You can own more than one, but only one of each type and it will be available across your account.
There are over 2,000 different kinds of furniture and decorations to customize your home with, including but not limited to beds, couches, chairs and lights. Those items can be bought or crafted and the items that you craft can be sold to other players. Most items will have be purchased by either gold or Crowns, which is the premier currency you have to purchase with your own money. One home that can only be bought by Crowns is an “ultra-luxurious island retreat.”
You can place your trophies you got during quests, as well as own pets.
All players will receive a free home after they complete the tutorial. Most other homes will require you to complete the tutorial as well as completing certain tasks to get access to the home.
Homestead will be released in early 2017 across all platforms.
