In a recent post on Medium, Geoff Keighley revealed the newest event headed to E3 called Coliseum. Geoff has teamed up with E3 to create a 2 day event in which there will be panels and talks with some of the leading industry developers.
This new event has been in the works for six months and has been kept quiet until this morning. The event will be held at The Novo at L.A. Live on Tuesday June 13th and Wednesday June 14th. So far the list of publishers that will be attending The Coliseum include Activision, Bethesda Softworks, Gearbox Publishing, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and Xbox. This won’t be the official list yet as they plan to add more companies leading up to E3.
“Alongside presentations from game developers, we will also welcome some very special guests from the broader entertainment world. They’ll join us to speak about the cultural significance of gaming and how this incredible medium has influenced their work. Lots of surprises in store here.”
Although this years E3 allows anyone to attend, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will actually get tickets due to it being sold out. In anticipation of this, Geoff has decided to live stream the event so anyone can sit down and watch the first ever E3 Coliseum.
As E3 creeps closer, more information will be released in anticipation of the event. MXDWN will have a man on the ground who will be providing all those unable to attend with the biggest news coming out of E3. Until then, keep an eye out for any new developments.
