Saber Interactive has been involved in publishing many games that simulate driving or racing with various tones and goals in mind. The latest of these games by developer UNIGINE titled Rideshare “Stimulator” builds tension in a different way from what has become expected of a genre that involves high-speed vehicles and chases. The new game follows the stressful life of a rideshare business holder as they take on various passengers. The recent announcement included a trailer and a Steam page with details on the game.
The trailer opens with an introduction to the unfortunate main character remarking on how others have told him to start the business to meet normal people, juxtaposed immediately with the introduction of a strange passenger who talks about the alignment of moons. In the following montage, the main character meets a series of characters with theories, quirks, or insults that they are very willing to share with him. Players will need to ensure that they drive in ways that please individual passengers in order to boost their ratings.
Another major aspect of the upcoming title is the upkeep and customization of the main character’s vehicle. Players will have access to a tree of upgrades to choose from in addition to the ability to swap out parts like wheels. In between drives, players will also need to clean the car and keep it from breaking down. The final draw of the game is in the ability to explore the area. Each environment is dynamic in an attempt to simulate a real breathing world. The more people the player transports, the more familiar they will grow with their surroundings, and the smoother future jobs will go.
While many enjoy driving and games that simulate the activity, having someone to talk to can make the experience much more entertaining. Rideshare “Stimulator” is set to release for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
