Since our last article on the announcement at E3 2014, with the details on Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, we received more details today. The Pokémon Company International announced some new features and story details of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire today, launching in America on November 21st and UK on November 28th, for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems. Along with the new details, a new gameplay trailer was also released, giving players a look at what they will be facing on their new adventure in the Hoenn region.
New Mega-Evolved Pokémon Mega Metagross!
After you face all the gym leaders and the Elite Four, you will need to fight against the Pokémon League Champion Steven in order to become the next Pokémon League Champion. As you face Steven, you will get to see that he has Metagross as his partner, and you will get to see the mega-evolved version of Metagross, Mega Metagross.
Mega Metagross, nicknamed ‘the Iron Leg Pokémon’ is a Steel and Psychic-type Pokémon. When Metagross mega-evolves, it will take on different ability, which is Tough Claws, an ability that allows the Pokémon to increase the power of attacks. Other stats update when mega-evolving, including increase to Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def, which allows Mega Metagross to be the best at both offense and defense.
Bond with Your Pokémon in Pokémon-Amie and Meet Cosplay Pikachu!
In Pokémon X and Y, players were able to create close bonds with their Pokémon by playing games together, petting them, and feeding them snacks called Poké Puffs in a feature called Pokémon-Amie. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be including this feature in the game.
In addition to the news about Pokémon-Amie being included to OmegaAlpha, new screenshots were released, which gives us a look at Cosplay Pikachu, plus also get a look at an screenshot that seems to be a Contest Hall. Come meet Pikachu cosplay as a Rockstar, Pikachu Belle, Pikachu Pop Star, Pikachu Ph. D, and Pikachu Libre. More information about this feature will be revealed in August.
Take Your First Step On Your Journey through the Hoenn Region
You begin your adventure in the Hoenn Region, where you get to meet Pokémon Professor Birch, who runs the Pokémon Lab in Littleroot Town. As every Pokémon game, the professor will help you on your journey by giving players their first Pokémon between Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, and will also be given a Pokédex.
You need to ‘catch ’em all’, and also become the Champion, but in order to do that you need to fight and defeat the Gym Leaders in the Hoenn region. Details were released also on who you will be going against in order to get Gym Badges, players will be facing against the Leader of the Petalburg City Gym, which happens to be your father named Norman. You will face the other Gym Leaders, which includes Roxanne in Rustboro City, Brawly in Dewford Town, Wattson in Mauville City, and Flannery in Lavaridge Town.
Once you defeat the eight Gym Leaders, the trainers will need to travel to the Pokémon League to face against the Elite Four, that includes Elite Four Phoebe and Sidney. Then as mentioned before, once you defeat the Elite Four, you will challenge the Hoenn League Champion, Steven, in order to become the next Pokémon League Champion.
