The previous update involved new items for the fireworks show, new seasonal items, bug fixes and adjustments to the game. Fans are eager for a large update, including more events and characters. In the small clip shown at the last Nintendo Direct, a new room seemed to have appeared in the museum on the island. The sign in front of the door shows that this new part of the museum will be home to “The Roost,” a coffee shop that was in previous Animal Crossing games. “The Roost” made its first appearance in Animal Crossing: Wild World and is run by Brewster, a pigeon who blends coffee for you.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest game in the Animal Crossing series. Released March 20, 2020, for the Nintendo Switch, the game has sold almost 34 million copies as of June 30, 2021, according to Nintendo’s financial data. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons people are given a deserted island to inhabit. While playing the game, you can fish, catch bugs, talk with your neighbors and help to upgrade your new home. Events are scattered throughout the year, allowing owners to celebrate holidays like Halloween and the New Year. New Horizons has online features that allow players to visit other friends’ islands or to upload their island to the internet for others to see. This game was perfect for a relaxing escape from the stress of the pandemic, becoming the best-selling game in the series.
