Dark Souls Remastered is arriving for most of its planned platforms later this month. Better yet, some players will be able to get a taste of the game as early as next weekend. Bandai Namco announced an upcoming network test for the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (an Xbox Gold subscription will be required to play for this one), but it will only last for two days only.
The network test will be running on May 11 and 12, at specific times. From 6 PM PT/9 PM ET to 11:59 PM PT/2:59 AM ET on each day, players can take an early foray into the Undead Parish area. Players are also going to have the ability to summon co-op partners and invade other players’ games.
If you own an Xbox One or PS4 and are itching to dive into Dark Souls Remastered as soon as possible, you can go ahead and download the Network Test Client, which as available now. May 8, 11:59 PM PT is the cutoff time for downloads, after which no new participants will be accepted, so make sure you’ve got the client by then if you’re planning on participating in the network test!
Bandai Namco also confirmed that a network test for the game’s Nintendo Switch version is coming, though it has been postponed along with the full game. As reported back in April, the Nintendo Switch version of the game was delayed until an unspecified date in summer 2018. The corresponding network test will also take place this summer, a short time before the game’s complete release.
Meanwhile, if you’re already the proud owner of Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition, we recently reported that you’ll be able to pick up the remaster for half price. Dark Souls Remastered is coming in full to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam), on May 25, 2018.
