New gameplay footage and launch window information have been revealed for Little Devil Inside, developer Neostream Interactive’s upcoming survival RPG. Neostream has remained relatively quiet about the game prior to this, with very little news of Little Devil Inside circulating since its announcement in 2015. The developer has resurfaced with a trailer showcasing the game’s progress over the past year, and key mechanics in the game.
In an interview with Inven Global, Neostream went into greater detail on the game. “The game is set in an imaginary Victorian Age. There is a college faculty that studies monsters and mysteries, with a white-haired doctor and a mechanics major doctor from the backstreets,” Neostream said. “And the wandering character in the desert which was introduced last time is a dethroned noble who is working for the doctors.” According to Neostream, Little Devil Inside adapts a permanent death system. When the player’s character—the trailer’s dethroned noble, for instance—dies, they are no longer playable. The player must interview with the aforementioned college doctors to get a new character.
Forest, sea, desert, and mountain maps will all be implemented into the game, plus the safe city with its college. Neostream confirmed that the main goal of the game was to travel the world and study monsters, and report your findings to the college once safely back in the city. “It’s an open world sandbox game,” Neostream added. “It’s not a massive open world, but probably similar to the size of Borderlands. There are many areas based on their respective concepts. You may venture freely, but they are not linked to each other.” The game’s main story is about 20 hours long, and total playtime is estimated to take about 100 hours when including side quests and exploration.

QA testing is anticipated to begin in late 2018, and the game’s launch window is also set for 2018, soon after QA wraps up. Little Devil Inside is expected to release first on PC, and later on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Mac, and Linux.
