NEO: The World Ends With You Officially Launches This July, PC Version Coming to Epic Games Store This Summer

The long-awaited follow-up to one of the biggest Nintendo DS cult classics is finally happening. Square Enix shocked the fan base by revealing the full-fledged sequel, NEO: The World Ends With Youback in November, along with a launch time frame of Summer 2021. Now, the company has pulled back the curtain and gave us an official release date. NEO: The World Ends With You will officially launch on July 27 for the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. In addition, the game will also see a release on PC through the Epic Game Store, which will release sometime later in the Summer.

While we already knew that the game would be launching for the two home consoles, and by extension, the PlayStation 5, the addition of a PC port was a nice surprise. What wasn’t too much of a surprise is that the game will be coming to the Epic Games Store. Considering that Square Enix just re-released the entire Kingdom Hearts franchise for PC for the first time through the aforementioned platform, it’s not a big stretch to see them continue their partnership with Epic Games in this regard.

We also got a brand new trailer to boot, showing us some more of Shibuya, as well as the characters. NEO: The World Ends With You will once again have the players ensnared within the Reaper’s Game, a life and death battle with the winner surviving. You’ll play as the new protagonist Rindo, along with his classmate Fret, and the extremely popular former Reaper Minamimoto, who also appeared in the original The World Ends With You. Everything we’ve seen so far has us excited to explore the massive world of Shibuya all over again, and we won’t have to wait long to get our hands on it.

NEO: The World Ends With You will officially launch on July 27 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch. A PC version will release sometime this Summer through the Epic Games Store.
