Neeko, the Curious Chameleon, is the Adorable New Hero in League of Legends

Still riding of the hype train of their latest hit event featuring K/DA, Riot Games has made a turn to bring forward a tease that has been around since August in the League of Legends universe. There were two image teases, but the one that was focused on today was the hint with an image of flowers. These were shown off in the 2018 Champion Roadmap back in August, and it was described to have said they belonged to a ‘colorful mage’.

The last hero that would be comfortable in this type of flower is the champion Zoe, Aspect of Twilight. However, fans have stated the symbol below the flowers is not related to Zoe. And just in time, Riot Games released the trailer that might have a few answers:

Welcome Neeko, the Curious Chameleon! Neeko is the colorful mage described as a “shapeshifter from a long-lost tribe of vastaya, Neeko watches the world with wide eyes and endless curiosity, always looking for something new to be.”

She’s a new type of character that takes on the disguise of her teammates and learns their basic skills. With this, she can fool the enemy through confusion to get the upper hand on the attack. This short game play video shows a rather neat trick of Neeko camouflaging in the foliage as she waits for her hurt teammate to escape, take his place, and gain an advantage:

Aside from her disguises and camouflage, Neeko also has projectile attacks shown in her debut trailer. He has three different kinds, so she can still fight in the front lines even when she isn’t hiding behind a mask.

Neeko also will have a Winter-y looking rendition of her outfit, that had shown up close to the end of her first video. It is possible this will be a skin that can be obtainable in the game:

The is currently no release date for Neeko, but she is officially a part of the 141 (142!) roster of champions. To learn more about how she became a part of the League of Legends lore, check our her official page here.
