NBA 2K21 has been released for current generation consoles, PC, and Google Stadia. There was a lot of speculation about whether the launch would be pushed back to match the next generation release date, but this never came to pass. Fans of the game series always anticipate player ratings for their favorite NBA stars, including the reigning NBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, Giannis Antetokounmpo. He ties Lebron James for the highest rating in the game at 97 overall. Tied for second is Kawhi Leonard and James Harden at 96 overall, followed by Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Stephen Curry at 95.
Luka Doncic, Damian Lillard, and Joel Embiid round out the top 10 at 94, 94, and 91 overall respectively. Due to the impact of COVID-19, players will have to wait for the prolonged NBA season to conclude before 2K Sports will update these ratings. Initial fan reaction is dependent on the platform it’s played on, but the same complaints from previous years seem to persist. From server issues to exploitive players, to predatory micro-transaction traps, these problems are déjà vu for NBA 2k fans. Twitter users have shared their experiences with the game so far and documented their own issues with NBA 2K21.

Day one glitches are still being discovered and patched; players can report bugs can report them in-game or submit a ticket on the 2K Support website. For follow-ups and additional information, players can contact 2K Support on Twitter with their ticket number. There’s been a lot of complaints regarding virtual currency(VC), with some issues having been patched already. Those who pre-ordered and didn’t receive their promised VC, faced glitches when trying to use their VC, or saw no change in VC balance after playing the game or completing tasks should refer to 2K Support.
