Naughty Dog Celebrates The Last Of Us Day With Sales And A Photo Challenge

Game Studio Naughty Dog released yesterday information detailing their celebration of The Last Of Us Day which includes sales on products, albums and accessories related to the award-winning game series, The Last Of Us. Over the next month, Naughty Dog will be hosting a photo challenge for fans of the series with a different theme announced for each week.

The photo mode challenge begins with its first theme, fortitude and strength. As fans post images relating to the theme, Naughty Dog will be sharing the photos on Twitter and their own blog.

If you are interested in music, Naughty Dog is offering a vinyl album of various cover songs used for The Last Of Us Part II. The album is available digitally on music streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. There are also specially designed guitars, guitar picks and guitar straps that are available for purchase. The other products range from flannel shirts to backpacks to even a figure of the character Joel from the game.

The Last Of Us, released in 2013, is an action-adventure game in which two characters must survive in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with fungus-infected zombies and bandits. In the story, the fungal outbreak reaches a high point on Sept. 26, 2013. Naughty Dog and fans shaped the day into what became known as Outbreak Day, a time to celebrate the game. Eventually, this became a tradition and the event is now celebrating its eighth anniversary. Last year due to the pandemic, Naughty Dog felt that it was necessary to change the original name of the celebration from Outbreak Day to The Last Of Us Day with respect to the ongoing pandemic.

To end off the day, Naughty Dog released a letter thanking the fans and their own team members for all of the time and effort they put into the series. Naughty Dog wanted to confirm once again to the community that more updates for The Last Of Us Part II are still coming. The studio also distributed an image of the new television series based on The Last Of Us that will be released on HBO.

In short, we’re working on it – we see the community comments as many of you clamor for multiplayer and want updates. For now, we’ll say that we love what the team is developing and want to give them time to build out their ambitious project, we’ll reveal more when it’s ready!
