Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, the next game in the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series, will be hitting store shelves in September.
That’s right, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution will be coming to your PS3, Xbox 360, and PC (via Steam) in September.
Almost since the show’s inception, Naruto and its followup series Naruto Shippuden have been some of the most popular anime series on the air, spawning dozens of games in the process. Of all the games to be inspired by the series, many players consider the Ultimate Ninja Storm fighting games to be some of the best, and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (say that five times fast) seeks to uphold that tradition. With a cast of over 100 characters, new moves, and new team-up maneuvers, it doesn’t look like the game will have that hard of a time.
Revisit some of your favorite scenes from the anime and manga as you fight your way through the game’s arena-style battles with any of the more than 100 characters available. Several new team-based Jutsu maneuvers are available in the game, including one featuring Naruto and Minato:
Considered as the fastest man Earth ever witnessed, Minato Namikaze the 4thHokage makes his comeback in his Reanimation ver. and Kurama Link Mode. In the midst of the terrible fights occurring during the Fourth Great Ninja War, the newly created duo Naruto and Minato will not be superfluous! Will the amazing Ultimate Combination Jutsu born from this association be the solution to this dreadful conflict? This united attack won’t be the only ace in Minato’s sleeve; he will be able to perform the famous Rasengan he created along with his unique Space-Time Ninjutsu!
In addition to new Jutsu, the team/s at CyberConnect2 and Namco Bandai are bringing new characters to the board like Mecha Naruto, as well as a revamped combat engine including moves like counterattacks and ground breaks. All of this will be included in a neatly wrapped Cel-shaded package showcasing some of the most fluid visuals available on the consoles the game will appear on, a trend the series has long kept up.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution will be released in Japan on September 11th 2014, followed up by a European release on the 12th before coming to North America on September 16th for the Xbox 260 and PlayStation 3 in both retail and digital versions, and even PC release on the Steam digital distribution platform. There are even two special edition versions of the game available: the Day One release features a handful of unique costumes only available through preorder. There is also the Samurai Edition, featuring a Naruto figurine among other goodies, though at the time of writing this article no information could be found on a US release of this version of the game.
