Mysterious Horror Title Here They Lie Will Launch On October 13th For PlayStation VR

We are only a few weeks out from the launch of Sony’s shot at VR and games have been coming out of the woodwork for Sony’s latest device.

The latest game, Here They Lie, is a bit of an unknown. Even Cory Davis Co-Director over at Tangentalmen, the game’s developer, admitted on the PlayStation Blog they’ve been a bit tight-lipped about the game.

I’ll be the first to admit… we’ve been a bit cryptic with the details since we announced Here They Lie at E3 2016.

Even with that admission, the post offers little info than a launch trailer for the game.

According to Santa Monica Studio, who helped develop the game, Here They Lie is a horror game in which you explore a twisted city in search of a woman in yellow.

Here They Lie transports you to a terrifying world from which you cannot escape. Explore a nightmarish city inhabited by strange, malevolent creatures in this ground-breaking first-person horror game compatible with PlayStation VR. Struggle to survive as you wrestle with life or death moral choices and try to uncover the mystery of the woman in yellow.

From the look of the trailer, the game will be similar to Outlast and Amnesia: The Dark Decent. In those games, players control a protagonist with very limited or no offensive abilities at all.

To find out more about the game you have to go to its website which is a link to something called the Daedalus Project. Snooping around you will find references to the Daedalus Machine which is something that supposedly bends space and time turning all truths into lies and vice versa. This machine, along with a healthy dose of mysticism lead to the birth or creation of a demon of some sort.

The entire site is filled with all the borderline crazy ramblings and pseudoscience you could want in a sci-fi horror game. I encourage you to check it out if you’re interested.

Here They Lie will be out on October 13th and will be a launch title for the PSVR.
