My Arcade, the retro gaming specialty company, has specialized in creating retro gaming peripherals and consoles for nostalgia’s sake. With dozens of ways to take its users back to the past of losing a bag worth of quarters at the local arcade, My Arcade has teamed up with Bandai Namco to increase this nostalgia trip even more. Announced during E3, the retro gaming company will be introducing two new products, the Namco Museum Mini Player and Pac-Man Pocket Player, this year.
The Namco Museum Mini Player will feature 20 classic Bandai Namco built into a mini arcade-styled cabinet, and it will also feature dual front facing speakers for sound, a detachable joystick, a back-lit marquee, and it will even feature a coin trap for that extra retro feel. Each title will be the original arcade version of the game as well, but there will also be some titles that did not have an original arcade release. The 20 games that will be featured on the Namco Museum Mini Player will be the following:
- Pac-Man
- Pac-Man 2 The New Adventures
- Pac-Panic
- Pac-Mania
- Galaga
- Galaxian
- Dig Dug
- Dig Dug II
- Mappy
- Sky Kid
- Rolling Thunder
- Rolling Thunder 2
- Rolling Thunder 3
- Splatterhouse
- Splatterhouse 2
- Dragon Spirit
- The Tower of Druaga
- Xevious
- Phelios
- Battle City
The Pac-Man Pocket Player will give retro gamers the ability to play three different Pac-Man games on the go with a new 16-bit handheld console. The handheld will sport Pac-Man, Pac-Panic, and Pac-Mania, and it will also be playable in full color.
“Bandai Namco Entertainment is synonymous with classic gaming, and has developed a huge library of classic games, loved by all” said Crystal Dugan, My Arcade’s Marketing Manager, in a press release. “We are so honored to work with them and so excited to share these titles with a new generation of gamers, in our own unique way.”
The Namco Museum Mini Player will be available for purchase during Holiday 2018, and the Pac-Man Pocket Player will be available for purchase sometime next month in July.
