In January, NetherRealm Studios announced Mortal Kombat 11 is featuring a load of returning and familiar characters from their previous gaming series. Some characters on the roster list included fighters such as Cassie Cage, Erron Black, and Jacqui Briggs, all of which made their first appearance in Mortal Kombat X with playable fighters and a new story trailer.
One part of the trailer displayed Kronika as she strategically draws together multiple realities in order to reset the timeline due to a rift caused by Raiden. In return, it brings forth some recognizable characters such as Johnny Cage along with newer additional characters that just appeared for the first time from the last game series. The trailer shows each of the newly announced players in story sequence, in addition to little clips of what their fatalities are.
Cassie Cage is the daughter of Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage, but surely the last names gave it away. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree as Cassie Cage lights up the battle field with the same green glow her father emits during battle. However, their style of combat moves and props are different.
Johnny can be seen using an Oscar to pummel his opponent along with using his fatality of a deadly upper cut blow. On the other hand, Cassie has the technique of beating her opponent severely and then delivering her blow of fatality. Shortly after, she shoves both of her hands in the insides of her opponents inner gut and makes a heart. Towards the end she pulls out her phone, wondering if they’re done with everything.
Erron Black is a new character in Mortal Kombat X and is known for his fearsome warriors; a mercenary with strikingly fatal combat moves such as Sand grenade, Anti-air and Caltrops. These deadly blows will surely cause a lot of damage during the fight. Players definitely don’t want to pick a fight with such a fearful mercenary. Jacqui Briggs is a competitive fighter skilled in martial arts. As the daughter of Jax Briggs, she follows in his footsteps as a member of Special Forces. She believes her duty is to protect Earthrealm and her family at all costs.
NetherRealm Studios is planning on having an online stress test event from March 15-17. The test will close on the 17th and unfortunately, only available to players in the US. The test is available only on PS4 and Xbox One versions.
