More Batman: Arkham Knight DLC Than Can Fit In The Batmobile, Also PC Updates!

Revealed today by Warner Bros. was enough new content to appease even the hungriest Batman: Arkham Knight players. While this is great news for console players, PC players will not be getting this content yet, but they can expect a glimmer of hope in the form of a statement from Warner Bros. Headlining the content wave is a special new story and set of missions titled GCPD Lockdown. Take a look at the trailer posted to the official Batman Arkham YouTube page.

As can be seen, this adventure pits Nightwing against the Penguin in a new original story. On top of GCPD Lockdown, expect a new wave of challenge maps for Batman, Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman in the second Crime Fighter Challenge Pack. This all becomes available next week, but there is content that has released today as well. Players can access a skin for Batman allowing him to don his Arkham Asylum costume and a brand new batmobile: the 2008 Tumbler. Take a look at the trailer below.

Interested players should note that the Tumbler will cost $1.99 on its own, but it’s also included in the Season Pass. The Arkham Knight Season Pass runs for $40 and gets buyers all the DLC content to be released until 2016. Speaking of which, the press release announcing the September DLC happened to mention some of the content to be expected in October, and it promises to satisfy. Like the set of missions featuring Nightwing releasing this month, October’s DLC will include a set of missions featuring Catwoman, titled Catwoman’s Revenge, that take place after the events of Arkham Knight and feature the Riddler as the prominent baddie. Also expect a Batman Classic TV Batmobile as DLC and more Challenge Packs, so hang in there.

Keep in mind that this is all for the console versions only. While the PC version remains absent from stores, the interim patch promised in early July for PC players left with the game has released and significantly improved many of the optimization issues plaguing the port. Luckily, PC players weren’t without mention in the press release. Just before the end, as though in passing, the PC version was vaguely addressed thusly:

The PC version of the game will be available in the coming weeks.

So…rejoice? To be fair, Warner Bros. came through on their promise for the interim patch in a somewhat timely fashion, and there’s no reason for them to give up on it after that endeavor. As always, time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy the Tumbler and Nightwing’s battle with the Penguin.
