Popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer MoistCr1TiKaL has announced the winners of his $10,000 speedrun challenge for the video game Amok Runner. In first place was “Weegee,” who won $6000, followed “zach” and “BobT0ad” who made $2500 and $1500 respectively with their second and third place times.
MoistCr1TiKaL, also known as penguinz0, caught the attention of the gaming community on December 27, 2022 with the release of a YouTube video titled My $10,000 Speedrun Challenge to his audience of 12 million subscribers. He declared that competitors would have two weeks to put up the best time possible for obscure action-adventure Steam game Amok Runner.
MoistCr1TiKaL emphasized his desire to challenge gamers to discover glitches, tricks and other time saves for a game which had no preestablished speedrun community. His call to action inspired hundreds of hardcore gamers to race for the world record, with a variety of speedrunning specialists and streamers trying their hand at the game.

The first-place winner “Weegee” reportedly put 190 hours into Amok Runner over the course of two weeks in order to achieve his final time of 25 minutes and 32 seconds. This record was set a mere two hours before the end of the competition and beat the runner-up time by a single second. “Weegee” is also a current world record holder for popular speedrunning game Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64.
MoistCr1TiKaL expressed his excitement at the outcome of his challenge, and shared his desire to make these high stake speedrunning challenges a regular occurrence, intending to host a challenge for a new, unexplored game monthly.
